[HGG01-P06] Development of Nanosatellite for Ionospheric Measurement for Earthquake Prediction

*Peberlin Parulian Sitompul1, Josaphat Tetuko Sri Sumantyo2 (1.Chiba University, and Indonesia National Institute of Aeronautic and Space, 2.Center for Environmental Remote Sensing, Chiba University)

Keywords:Nanosatellite, Circular polarization, Earthquake prediction, Ionosphere

Indonesia is located at equatorial region and also has long coastline that often suffer the earthquakes. In some cases, ionospheric activity level increases just before to an earthquake event and shows a different behaviour 5–10 days before the event, when the seismic event has a magnitude greater than 4–4.5 degrees. The nanosatellite development is very important to get more ionospheric data and reletively cheaper than bigger satellite.
