Outline of the activities of the Kumano Kodo Ohechi Rangers
In this poster we will report about the activities of the Kumano Kodo Ohechi Rangers and the relationship between the Nanki Kumano geopark.
The Kumano Kodo Ohechi Rangers was formed in 2004.
The Ohechi route of Kumano Kodo has few flatlands around the coast.
As a result, due to modern traffic improvement many roads of the Ohechi route were duplicated, traces of which were lost.
Volunteers to conduct the exploratory activities of the Ohechi route have gathered, and the Kumano Kodo OhechiRangers is formed.
Search activity is to listen from old people and learn from old maps, investigate the route, rediscover the way.
The exploring activity of the Kumano Kodo Ohechi Rangers revealed about 120 km of the large side route from Tanabe City to Nachikatsura Town, and in 2017 the addition of some part of Ohechito the World Cultural Heritage "Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range" was confirmed.
In the vicinity of the Ohechi Route, many of the members of the Kumano Kodo Ohechi Rangers where the major geosites of the Nanki Kumano Geopark are dotted have completed the geopark guide training course and are conducting guide activities.
Also, it is also an area of Yoshino Kumano National Park, and some have registered as a natural park instructor.
Members are actively engaged in the creation of illustration maps, the setting of signposts, the implementation of walking in cooperation with tourism associations and travel agencies, and the conservation activities at local school classes.
I will examine what kind of activities are needed in the future.
