[O08-P24] Diversity of Nature Activities Related Geodiversity
San’in Kaigan UNESCO Global Geopark is the area stretching from Kyotango City in Kyoto Prefecture; Toyooka City, Kami Town and Shin’onsen Town in Hyogo Prefecture; and Iwami Town and northern part of Tottori City in Tottori Prefecture.
Geopark theme is ‘Geological features, natural environment, people’s lives and the formation of the Sea of Japan.’
There are many organizations which conduct outdoor activities in San’in Kaigan Geopark area. More than 20 bodies in 3 prefectures offer variety of activity programs, making good use of the geological characteristics of the area including the seas (sea kayaking, snorkeling, diving), mountains (mountainous area cycling, treeing), snows (skiing, showshoe), sand dunes (sand board) and rocks (lava trekking).
Each activities need suitable geological features. Diverse activities mean that there are diverse geological features in San’in Kaigan Geopark. In this presentation, I’ll talk about the relationships between variety of activities and the geological features in San’in Kaigan Geopark.
