[SSS15-P01] Paleoseismicity of Atsuma Town , Hokkaido: Evidence from landslide deposits
Keywords:Paleo seismology, Liquefaction, landslide body
Many landslides occurred by the 2018 Hokkaido Eastern Iburi Earthquake in Atsuma-cho. We reported about discovering of ancient landslide deposit from an archeological site of the Jomon period in Atsuma in 2004 and 2016. It was inferred that this landslide was caused by an earthquake and it probably occurred at activity event of the Ishikari teichi-toen active fault zone. The morphological characteristic of the landslide deposit resembles that of landslide caused by this earthquake. The archeological findings of the past remains excavation in Atsuma-cho area shows that the event of a lot of landslides caused by earth quake is only 2018 Hokkaido Eastern Iburi Earthquake and an earthquake of the Jomon period during last 9,000 years.
