[HCG32-P02] A meander bar in the upper Koito River changed by floods
Keywords:meander bar, Koito River, flood
A meander bar is observed in the upper Koito River in the Boso Hills, Chiba Prefecture, central Japan. The study area of Boso Hills consist of alternations of sandstones and mudstones of the late Miocene Amatsu Formation. The upper Koito River is a plane-bed bedrock river and forms an incised meander. The bar distinctly was enlarged by lateral accretions and an increasing downstream of larger gravels during the floods caused by typhoons in autumn of 2017.
