Tokyo has experienced great damage by many earthquakes since ancient times, has a history that has repeatedly been destroyed and reconstructed. Every time Tokyo suffered an earthquake disaster, the park has been required to have new functions. Every time Tokyo suffered an earthquake disaster, the park has been required to have new functions. The first is a role as evacuation site and the second is a role as Base for Large-scald and Life-saving Operations. Currently, there are 82 parks in metropolitan parks, but the 21 major parks are not only functions as evacuation places but also Base for Large-scald and Life-saving Operations when disasters such as large earthquakes occur in the capital Tokyo Function. We name them as disaster prevention parks and manage them. First, the function as an evacuation site is a function that all parks have and is to secure places where many citizens can escape as safe places in the event of a disaster. To that end, there are three distinctive park facilities. One is a "solar-type park light" so that you can check the location from anywhere even at the time of a power outage. The second type is "manhole type disaster prevention toilet" directly connected to the drain pipe so that many evacuees can use it even if they temporarily stay in the park. The third one is a normal bench in peacetime, but in the event of a disaster it is a "kamado bench" that can be used as a "kettle" that can be boiled. Next, the function as Base for Large-scald and Life-saving Operations is a function that serves as a helicopter departure station or a large emergency vehicle collecting base as an activity base of relief units, medical troops, etc. in the afflicted area. Therefore, although a park having a large-scale square is designated as a large-scale rescue and relief activity base, the characteristic maintenance is to expand and strengthen the school path so that large vehicles can pass, securing helicopter take-off and landing spots, etc. is there. What you need to fully demonstrate these functions is day-to-day disaster prevention drills. In the park, including citizens, police, fire fighting companies, companies, etc., training is conducted several times a year "Manhole type disaster prevention toilet" and "Kamado bench", and helicopter takeoff and landing training etc. are also carried out.
