Soil Water Index shows the risk of land slide disasters caused by rain in real time and the land slide warning judgment mesh information released by the Japan Meteorological Agency using it.
Most of the dead due to land slide disasters in the last two decades occurred with the Soil Water Index value updating the maximum value in the last 10 years.
