[HQR05-10] Stratigraphy of Tokyo Formation: re-examination of Kita-Ku Central Park core
Keywords:Tokyo Formation, stratigraphy, drill core
We re-examined the Kita-ku Central Park core to examine the stratigraphy of Tokyo Formation. Several depositional cycles consistent with gravels, sands and mud were observed at shallower than the depth 30 m of this core. A pumice layer was found at about 15 m depth of this core, which can be correlated with Km2 tephra of the Kamiizumi Formation of Shimosa Group, suggesting that the Middle Pleistocene sediments corresponding to MIS 7e is distributed in shallow subsurface at this area.
