Keywords:sand beach sediment, grain size analysis, composition of clastics

In order to clarify the dynamics of the beach sand in the sandy coast of Tsuruga Bay, we carried out grain size analysis, composition of clastics and color analysis of beach and river bed sediments. The west coast of Tsuruga Bay consists mainly of granitic rocks and the east coast mainly of accretionary complex. As the result we revealed that the transportation and sedimentation process along Tsuruga Bay coasts might not be closed within each coast and its inflowing rivers, but it may be influenced by the coastal current.
