Keywords:Exoplanets, Astrobiology

In this review, I will summarize previous and ongoing efforts to find habitable exoplanets in the vicinity of the Solar system and future prospects to characterize such planets with next generation telescopes and instruments. In addition, I will talk about the importance and some examples of interdisciplinary studies of astrobiology to consider future missions.
