[MIS12-06] Flume experiments for understanding variety of tsunami deposit
★Invited Papers
Keywords:Tsunami deposit, Flume experiment, Sedimentary process
Flume experiments, in which sedimentary conditions can be easily controlled, are expected to provide insights into the sedimentary process under tsunami flow. The previous studies using flume experiments have contributed to improvement of numerical models of tsunami sediment transport. By contrast, there is not enough experimental studies to examine sedimentary process in order to improve the identification and interpretation of (paleo) tsunami deposits in geological record. In this presentation, I will summarize previous studies of tsunami deposit using flume experiment, and show the potential for better understanding of sedimentary process of tsunami deposits.
