[MIS20-02] The effect of understanding of mountainous terrain using 3D maps and solid model

*Jiro Komori1 (1.Teikyo Heisei University)

Keywords:Red Relief Image Map, online map, 3D printer, glacial topography, landslide topography, educational effect

The topography shows various forms by a background of the formation of the place, i.e history of geology and structural development, weathering, erosion and deposition. However, for a person without an interest and opportunity for geoscience study, it is difficult to understand the relation between the topography and background. On the other hand, it became easy to see a stereoimage of the topography without difficulty using a special relief map, 3D view on the screen and hands-on model by 3D printer. This presentation will introduce practical example and reaction of the students for understanding mountain topography.
