[MZZ51-P01] Cosmic skepticism on meaning of life

*Shigeyuki Aoki1 (1.School of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Aizu)

Keywords:earth and planetary science, cosmology, philosophy

“Meaning of life” can be questioned in various dimensions. Most of the arguments in the present literature ask what meaning of life we can find in our individual life. So, this line of question is substantially on “meaning in life” rather than on “meaning of life”. On the contrary, cosmology or life sciences raise another type of question (or skepticism) – what on earth is the meaning of life so short? This presentation will classify various types of skepticism on individualistic meanings of life, and then discuss whether the questions on meaning of life are closed each other in each dimension.
