[O03-P31] Can you predict the weaather when you see the starry sky
Keywords:weather, star, water vapor
1, Introduction
Water vapor has a major effect in astronomical observation. Using that fact as an underhanded way, I thought that it was possible to predict the weather in the end by estimating the amount of water vapor in the sky according to the appearance (brightness) of the stars.
2, trial of observation
In the initial observation, I tried to measure the brightness of the star by the naked eye, but I thought that an error would occur, and improved it so that the brightness can be compared objectively by adjusting the brightness with the iPhone camera app.
3, result, summary
From the observation results this time, it has been confirmed that water vapor interferes with star observation.
We will continue to observe whether it is caused by differences in altitude, environment or season, compare it with meteorological observation data, and look for the cause of the difference in the appearance of stars.
In addition, there is a part where the appearance of stars clearly appears, so I would like to find out the cause other than the difference in elevation such as the difference with other points.
