[O03-P65] Ecological study on Micrasterias hardyi recently invaded to Lake Biwa: its dependency on water temperature

*Ayane Kawai1, Michio Kumagai2 (1.Shiga Prefectural Ishiyama High School, 2.Authorised NPO Biwako Trust)

Keywords:Micrasterias hardyi, Lake Biwa, water temperature

In August 2016, I saw Micrasterias hardyi at first, which is an invaded phytoplankton in Lake Biwa, and I was attracted by its beautiful microscopic shape. Micrasterias hardyi made a big bloom in Lake Biwa in 2016, and became in a comparative lull in 2017, but it increased rapidly again in 2018. I have studied the morphology, vertical distribution and settling velocity of Micrasterias hardyi since then. This time, as I made laboratory experiment to understand the dependency of Micrasterias hardyi on water temperature, I will show the results.
