The Sanriku Geopark covers the area from Aomori Prefecture through the coast of Iwate Prefecture and down to Miyagi Prefecture. Hachinohe City Marine Science Museum is located on the northern edge of that and to that belongs to the Mariento Chikyu Tanken club.

We learned about Sanriku Geopark in March 2019. There are seven geosites in the Sanriku Geopark northern area. They are shown in Figures 1. After lectures by Sanriku Geopark authorized guide and the field trips, we had many problems such as difficult and unfamiliar technical terms. So we picked difficult terms or mechanism out and drew up a list. And find out them on books, brochures and the website. We rewrote them to an easy-to-understand description for high school students and to the one for elementary school students.

Presenting what we know how a feature of our club. So we propose "GEO-KAMISHIBAI" as one of the solutions to the problem. An example is shown in Figures 2 and 3. Use simple figures and give plain explanations that use as few technical terms as possible. We made it with a keen awareness of living in a changing zone.

It was improved while incorporating expert advice and demonstrated to elementary and junior and senior high school students. We confirmed that we could convey the attractiveness of Geopark in an easy-to-understand and fun way as a result of the questionnaires obtained there. The results of the questionnaire are shown in chart 1.

Through this activity, we were able to realize that we lived on the earth which keeps changing. In addition, the people adapted themselves to various earths’ changes many times, and they have made it rather opportunities for the innovation since the Jomon-era. And we want to know wisdom from the geopark. We should not be afraid of earth changing too much and should make it an opportunity of the new innovations. We are trying to improve "GEO-KAMISHIBAI" more and more.

We got the cooperation of Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC), Hachinohe City, Hachinohe City Board of Education, Korekawa Archaeological Institution, Promotion of Utilization of Research Results by JAMSTEC Hachinohe City Council Meeting Association, the high school to which the members belong and various related organizations. Gratitude is recorded here.
