[O03-P76] Observation of the dust storm over the polar cap of Mars

Yuzaburo Takamura1, *Rino Hayakawa1, Soma Ohashi1, Yuna Kuriki1 (1.Ichinomiya High School)

Keywords:the polar cap of Mars, CMOS camera, the dust storm

With Mars Closest Approach occurred on July 31, 2018, we have observed Mars on a continuous basis using a CMOS camera. Along with this event, a massive dust storm was seen on the surface of Mars. Therefore, we analyzed how the dust storm effected our data of Mars, focusing on the polar cap. The results showed that the contrast difference throughout the polar cap got smaller as the dust storm grew big.
