[O08-P05] Inspiring geosites and not-inspiring geosites: Case study of the Oga Peninsula-Ogata Geopark
Keywords:geocognition, geopark guide
The speaker analyzed protocols spoken by the trainee for the Geopark guide in Oga Peninsula – Ogata Geopark. In the question and answer sessions during the training program, response types shown by the trainees are classified into two types; getting knowledge type and no response type. At the geosites showing only something, e.g. fossils, the trainees would ask about something. Hence, the learners show almost nothing at the geosites requiring some cognition to understand. Finally, the speaker insists that geopark guides should choice better instructional method, depending on the visitors’ readiness regarding geoscience concepts.
