[O08-P22] School Trip from Hong Kong to Dinosaur Valley Fukui Katsuyama Geopark : Challenges and Prospects

Dinosaur Valley Fukui Katsuyama Geopark is located at mountainous region, Fukui Prefecture, Japan. As you can understand from the name of geopark, the region is famous for dinosaur fossils excavation. 5 named dinosaurs have been discovered from Tetori group (early Cretaceous) so far (Azuma & Currie, 2000; Kobayashi & Azuma, 2003; Azuma & Shibata, 2010; Shibata & Azuma, 2015; Azuma et al., 2016). And there are various beautiful landscapes, formed by old volcanic activities and river flows (Kuzuryu rive and its branches).
Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum is very famous in Japan and probably there are many visitors for school trip every year. However, most of them visit there and leave Katsuyama. This has been an old problem of Katsuyama city since the museum was established. We accepted school trip from Hong Kong Chinese Women's Club Fung Yiu King Middle School. We report challenges and prospects about accepting the students trip and guiding them.
