[SVC35-12] On the climber’s attitudes to the Volcanic mitigation for active volcanoes.
Following the Ontake disaster on September 27,2014, the act on active volcano special measures law was revised in 2015, local governments well informed of hazardous area, items for smooth alert evacuation by distributing volcanic hazard map. On the other hand, it is hard to say that the method of transmitting volcanic disaster information to climber is sufficiently under the present circumstances, it is urgent to provide information smoothly in emergency and evacuation method.
We carried out questionnaire survey on the climber in order to know the attitudes to the volcanic mitigation for active volcanoes. 74 respondents were collected at Kurikoma volcano, and 84 respondents were collected at Akita-Komagadake volcano.
At the result, climber in Akita – Komagadake, more than 62 percent of respondents visited from both Iwate and Akita prefecture, whereas in Kurikoma volcano, 56 percent of respondents visited from Kanto area by the large – scale bus with a sightseeing tour.
More than 67 percent of climbers have not issued climbing notifications in both volcanoes.
It is clear that the 40 percent of respondents in Kurikoma volcano, 25 percent of respondents in Akita – Komagadake climber are not recognized where they are climbing as active volcano, and eruption alert level is not also well understood.
