The future of the journal metrics and new trend of the scholarly publishing will be discussed.Clarivate Analytics has consistent selection criteria from the 1970s to the present as carefully selecting journals to be included in Web of Science. By looking at the selection criteria, I would like to consider a viewpoint for becoming a globally distinctive journal, managing journals from a global perspective, and seeing the journals originating from Japan to face the global research community with strategy. Furthermore, we summarize statistical data of Web of Science into journals related to JpGU, and present the benchmark which is the basis of grasping the current situation of the journal. I summarize the current status of OA journals, Japan's journal, China's journals on Web of Science as statistics and look at recent trends in the field related to JpGU, and a useful point for strategy formulation to raise the presence of the journal.
