Keywords:planetary exploration, infrastructure for research and dvelopment , cultivating human resources
Consortium for Planetary Exploration is planed to establish a set of distributed infrastructures in the fields of solar system sciences in Japan to plan, promote, and realize Japanese solar system exploration missions by supporting, cooperating and/or leading the mission implementing agency, JAXA, from the viewpoint of sciences, and also promoting international corporations among other organizations in the world, and help the science community maximize scientific outcomes from those missions. The consortium is to fulfill the lack of scientific leaders of such fields as data reduction, simulation modeling, instrument development, material analyses who have good experience and expertise both of the solar system sciences and the mission planning and driving, and also fundamental environments for research and development. More importantly, the focus of the consortium plan is not only to improve the number of researchers and the fundamental environments, but to cultivate graduate students and young scientist to be working on those places. The requirement for the consortium will be briefly summarized in the presentation.
