This session provides a broad platform for the discussion and presentation of fundamental and up-to-date scientific results related to near-surface, earth critical zone hydrogeological processes, ecological system, and interactions between them. Presentations on but not limited to the research topics targeted to arid and semiarid regions are especially welcome. In addition, presentations on related research areas, such as climate change, environmental conservation, ecological risk assessment, water resource management, sand control and desert greening are also encouraged.
