[M-IS08] Paleoclimatology and paleoceanography
convener:Yusuke Okazaki(Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Graduate School of Science, Kyushu University), Benoit Thibodeau(University of Hong Kong), Akitomo Yamamoto(Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and TechnologyAtmosphere and Ocean Research Institute), Hitoshi Hasegawa(Faculty of Science and Technology, Kochi University)
Past environmental changes and events at multi-decadal to tectonic timescale toward an understanding of Earth climate system by an integration of terrestrial and marine proxy studies and numerical modeling will be discussed. This session includes a special series of presentations on the ocean circulation under climate change in the past, present and future relating to MOC, ventilation and hypoxia. We welcome a variety of paleo-environmental studies from a wide range of background. We hope that this session will provide an opportunity to promote communication between participants from multidisciplinary field.
