[M-IS14] Evolution of Pelagic Realm
convener:Atsushi Matsuoka(Department of Geology, Faculty of Science, Niigata University), Toshiyuki Kurihara(Graduate School of Science and Technology, Niigata University), Tetsuji Onoue(Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Faculty of Science, Kyushu University), XIN LI(State Key Laboratory of Palaeobiology and Stratigraphy, Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences)
This session focuses on the evolution of ecosystem in the pelagic realm,
including discussions on all aspects of pelagic biota covering biostratigraphy,
biochronology, evolution, and biogeography, which are important to the
reconstruction of the spatio-temporal framework in the pelagic realm.
Reconstructions of plate configuration through time are included in the scope of
this session. Biological, geochemical, sedimentological approaches to the
pelagic environments are welcomed.
