convener:Shinji Takarada(Geological Survey of Japan, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology), Mitsuhiro Yoshimoto(Mount Fuji Research Institute, Yamanashi Prefectural Government), Tatsuro Chiba(Asia Air Survey Co., Ltd.), Tomohiro Kubo( Mount Fuji Research Institute)

Volcanic disasters are caused by wide range of volcanic phenomena including ash fall, pyroclastic flow, debris avalanche, lahar, and lava flow. To mitigate volcanic disasters, wide range of technologies including simulation, data processing on GIS, and communication techniques are required. Researches on volcanic hazards mapping, eruption scenarios, and probabilistic eruption assessments are getting important. This session invites presentations and broad reviews related to these topics. Contributions on database technology, case studies of social and school educations, and specific examples of eruption crisis events are also encouraged.
