Persistent small-scale winds over sea surface temperature gradients are now well-known. Less known, except for some remarkable local studies, are small-scale wind-driven waves and wave-driven winds. I will present observational evidence of the phenomenon, focusing on the latter over the North Pacific and other regions of the global ocean.
