[G03-P05] Using a borehole for groundwater observation in junior high school
Keywords:groundwater, junior highi school, borehole
We used a borehole to understand groundwater for junior high school students in Tokushima Prefecture Southwest Japan. The borehole 10 m in depth was digged for geological survey and located in the school ground. Students observed temperature, smell, resistivity and level of groundwater in one or two hours of science class in November 2012. They realized abundant groundwater around the school and found relationship between groundwater level and daily rainfall amount. Groundwater is an impressive topic in science and environment educations in junior high school.
