[G03-P08] Future Geospatial Information Authority of Japan Geography Education Support Based on Questionnaire Results to High School Geoscience Teachers
Keywords:Geography Education Support, high school geology, GSI maps, questionnaire
1.Introduction
Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (hereinafter referred to as "GSI"). Has recently been focusing on geographic education support. However, when I look at the work of the GSI, I consider that its contents will greatly contribute to geoscience education. From this point of view, I recently introduced the GSI map and its contents to teachers of high school geosciences in Saitama and Chiba prefectures, and had the opportunity to conduct a questionnaire (hereinafter referred to as “Saitama” and “Chiba”). Omitted). The results and considerations are introduced.
2. About the questionnaire conducted
The survey targets Saitama Prefecture, which has held meetings every year since 2015 and counts a total of five times, and Chiba Prefecture, which is held for the first time this year.
In the questionnaire, we asked about the awareness of the GSImap and the toolbox for geography education, how they were used, and their requests. As for the implementation method, the people who came to the poster presentation in Saitama Prefecture answered the questionnaire, and Chiba Prefecture distributed it as part of the materials and collected it after the closing ceremony. The number of responses was 16 in Saitama Prefecture and 27 in Chiba.
3. Questionnaire results
Details of the response results will be shown in the announcement. From some results, it was found that as a general tendency, the GSI maps was highly recognized, but the degree of use in classes etc. was low.
4. ConsiderationWhat can be said from the results of the questionnaire is as follows.
Recognition has been raised by past activities to disseminate the Geographical Institute map, and the effects of the dissemination activities are seen. On the other hand, the toolbox for geography education, which was introduced for the first time this year, proved difficult to recognize. Also, if you have used the Geographical Institute's website for actual school activities, Chiba has a higher awareness of the toolbox for geography education than Saitama, and in Saitama how to access the Geographical Institute map directly Therefore, it is probable that he went directly to the Geographical Institute map without looking at the others.
Based on the above, although it is effective for publicity activities, new sites such as tool boxes for geography education are not noticed in the present situation, so to disseminate it not only in the geography field but also in the geology field It is important for teachers and staff members to take an active role. In addition, I think that it is better to show how to use some killer content in which class to actually use it.
