[HQR06-01] Importancen of high-resolution and high density radiocarbon dating for the late Quaternary paleoenvironmental studies

*Yusuke Yokoyama1, Yosuke Miyairi1, Takahiro AZE1 (1.Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute, University of Tokyo)

Keywords:Radiocarbon dating, Palaeoclimate, Palaeoenvironment

Recent developments of mass spectrometry enable us to conduct high-precision and high- resolution dating on samples to study paleoenvi- ronmental conditions during the Quaternary. In particular, radiocarbon dating using small accelerator mass spectrometers is a highlight, and combinations with statistical analyses reveal detailed histories of the Earth’s surface environment. In this presentation, we will introduce some new knowldges regarding paleoenvironments using high resolution radiocarbon dating.
