Paris Astronnomical Data Centre (PADC) is the data centre of the Paris Observatory that distributes data using interoperability standards. Its mission is to preserve and makes available scientific data in Astronomy, planetary science and associated fields such as atomic and molecular physics or simulations.
As an open archive, PADC follows the FAIR principle and uses the interoperability standards of the IVOA, but not only. In addition to the Findable and Interoperable side, PADC works on the Searchable side. Although the difference seems small, it implies a lot of work on the preparation of the data.
Findable can be limited to letting Google indexes the data. Searchable in the sense of the IVOA is to describe the data provider (institute, team ...) but especially all the metadata that allow data mining within data collections. This search in large and often heterogeneous masses of data requires the entire interoperability infrastructure. We will describe the process of registering a data collection in the IVOA as well as the steps involved in integrating metadata for searching.
