Author introduces the latest state of Open Science Policy and its implementation in Japan as of January 2020. Integrated innovation Strategy 2019 focuses more on the development of research data infrastructure. For monitoring the promotion of Open Science, NISTEP is gathering some use cases in Japan to have an image of research data management and sharing, studying which factor is crucial and suitable for monitoring the advancement of Open Science. Also Moonshot research development program is setting an agenda to develop an advanced research data management, aiming to have a champion case of research data sharing followed by research data management system such as the NII research data cloud. Leading and established societies with domain repositories would have to be compatible with such policy implementation to make a seamless and comfortable research data management and sharing for researchers accelerating the advancement of Science.
