*Yui Takahashi1 (1.Muroto Geopark Promotion Committee)

Geoparks sometimes provide research grants with the aim of strengthening the basic researches and promoting researches in various fields. It is important to constantly conduct new research and discover new values and update existing values in the geopark area. this is also listed as items in the revalidations.
Muroto UNESCO Global Geopark has started a research grant program since 2018, and has held a result report session for locals at the end of the fiscal year. This session is a place where locals can learn the latest studies fom the researchers. At the same time, researchers also lern the ideas and local activities from residents. Therefore, the research grant program is a catalyst for connecting researchers and geopark. Muroto UNESCO Global Geopark is exploring ways to create a mutually supportive relationship between geopark and researchers. This time, we introduce the partner researcher program created in the process.
