[MIS28-P03] Historical flood disaster in the southern area of Gunma Prefecture infered from the memorial monuments of flood

Distribution of memorial monuments related to the flood damages and their description in the central and southern area of Gunma Prefecture were investigated. Many memorial monuments related to the debris flow and flood caused by the typhoon Kathleen 1947 are distributed in the southern and western foot area of Mt. Akagi. Karasu river, Kabura river and Kanna river confluence in the Karasu river lowland. This area is flood prone area, and many memorial monuments of past flood are also distributed. These memorial monuments in this area are related to the flood caused by heavy rain of 1846, 1910 and 1935.
