[O04-P08] Relations of the size of tsunami and the destruction rate of the house

*Keita Ichikawa1 (1.Ichikawagakuen Ichikawa high school)

Keywords:Tsunami, Tohoku Earthquake, destruction rate

Hatori (1984) discusses the tsunami damage caused by the Chilean earthquake and the 1933 Sanriku-oki Earthquake in three points: the relationship between destruction rate and tsunami height, water pressure and the location of houses, and water pressure and destruction rate. Therefore, I demonstrated in terms of destruction rate and tsunami height in the tsunami caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake which was not revealed by Hatori (1984) or other previous studies. Graphing the relationship between tsunami height and destruction rate in the 20 areas affected by the main tsunami revealed a positive correlation coefficient. It turns out that the height of the tsunami and destruction rate are related.
