In the evaluation of fault activity, if there is a step above the fault in the basement rock and the step is covered by the sedimentary layer, it is important to judge whether the fault activity is affecting the overlying sediments. In this presentation, we report the results of detailed observation of the inside structure of the sedimentary layer, taking the case of the outcrop of the sedimentary layer filling the step of the basement formed by erosion. We also report the results of comparison with the fault outcrop.
