[M-IS18] Paleoclimatology and paleoceanography

Thu. May 26, 2022 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM 304 (International Conference Hall, Makuhari Messe)

convener:Hitoshi Hasegawa(Faculty of Science and Technology, Kochi University), convener:Yusuke Okazaki(Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Graduate School of Science, Kyushu University), Akitomo Yamamoto(Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and TechnologyAtmosphere and Ocean Research Institute), convener:Atsuko Yamazaki(Faculty of Science, Kyushu University), Chairperson:Akitomo Yamamoto(Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and TechnologyAtmosphere and Ocean Research Institute)

We discuss past environmental changes and events at interannual to tectonic timescale toward understanding Earth's climate system by integrating terrestrial and marine proxy studies and numerical modeling. At JpGU2022, in addition to the regular session, we will have a topic session on "Climate Models" in commemoration of Dr. Syukuro Manabe's Nobel Prize in Physics, including a variety of paleoclimate models for various time-scales, proxy-model comparison, and future projection models. We hope that this session will provide an opportunity to promote communication between participants from the multidisciplinary field.

4:45 PM - 5:00 PM
