[S-CG42] Evolution and movement of the crustal surface and application of geo- and thermochronology

Wed. Jun 1, 2022 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Online Poster Zoom Room (26) (Ch.26)

convener:Noriko Hasebe(Institute of Nature and Environmental Technology, Kanazawa University), convener:Shigeru Sueoka(Japan Atomic Energy Agency), Takahiro Tagami(Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University), convener:Yuan Hsi Lee(National Chung Cheng University), Chairperson:Shigeru Sueoka(Japan Atomic Energy Agency), Noriko Hasebe(Institute of Nature and Environmental Technology, Kanazawa University), Shoma Fukuda(Japan Atomic Energy Agency), Hsin-Yu Lee(Department of Geoscience, National Taiwan University)

The terrestrial earth surface is the habitat of humans and undergoes drastic changes caused by endogenic and exogenic processes. Establishing the chronology of the past changes/episodes is a key to understanding ongoing processes and to predict future physical environments. This session aims at comprehensive understanding of dynamics of the earth's surface, including crustal movements, uplift-denudation processes, and subsequent landform development occurred in various spatio-temporal scales. In addition to the thermochronological approach, it welcomes interdisciplinary studies based on, e.g., tectonic geomorphology, structural geology, geodetic observation, cosmogenic nuclides, numerical calculations, and analogue experiments.
