Sun. May 22, 2022 1:45 PM - 3:15 PM Exhibition Hall Special Setting (2) (Exhibition Hall 8, Makuhari Messe)

convener:Kenji Ohta(Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Tokyo Institute of Technology), convener:Kenji Kawai(Department of Earth and Planetary Science, School of Science, University of Tokyo), Tsuyoshi Iizuka(University of Tokyo), convener:Jun Tsuchiya(Geodynamics Research Center, Ehime University), Chairperson:Kenji Ohta(Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Tokyo Institute of Technology), Jun Tsuchiya(Geodynamics Research Center, Ehime University)

Recent geophysical and geochemical observations and experimental and theoretical studies of deep Earth materials have greatly advanced our understanding of the structure and constituent materials of the deep Earth. However, there are still many unanswered questions about the formation and evolution of the Earth, such as the heterogeneous structure of the mantle and the varieties and abundances of light elements in the core. The purpose of this session is to provide an opportunity to bring together the results of various research fields focusing on the core, mantle, and their interaction and coevolution in the Earth and planets, and to promote the exchange of information. The conference will promote the development of new research fields through the presentation of the results of advanced research such as high-precision paleomagnetic measurements, geophysical observations, precise geochemical analyses, direct observation of deep Earth radioactivity using geoneutrinos, numerical simulation techniques for mantle convection and geodynamo, and high-pressure mineral physics. Presentations related to the formation of the Japanese version of the Deep Earth and Planetary Research Group (J-SEDI) to develop collaboration among different fields are also welcome.
