We face a number of challenges at the moment, including climate change, infectious diseases, poverty, conflict, etc. The concrete goals that we should achieve by 2030 are the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Human race has developed civilization through its close relationship with the Earth system. We would like to discuss how the world's leading unions on Earth and Planetary Sciences contribute to the SDGs by cooperation and collaboration among JpGU, AGU, EGU, AOGS and CGU in the session of Great Debate at JpGU2022.
At the 2023 JPGU meeting, this discussion will be developed to have a joint session by JpGU, AGU, EGU, AOGS and CGU in order to work cooperatively.
