Keywords:Radiosonde observation, Atmospheric waves

There is a meridional circulation which transports atmospheric minor constituents such as ozone from tropical region to extratropical region in the stratosphere. It is known that this circulation is driven by atmospheric waves by using the wave-mean interaction theory in the zonal-mean field. However, the local structure of the circulation and wave activity remains unclear, especially in the upper stratosphere, where there are fewer observations than in the troposphere.
In this study, we conducted 27 radiosonde observations using large balloons on the voyage to the Western Pacific by Oceanographic Research Vessel MIRAI between May 27 and July 5, 2021, in order to capture wind velocity and temperature fluctuations above 30 km altitude. In this presentation, we will introduce the outline of the observations and report the results of the analysis of the disturbance activity observed from 30 to 40 km during the fixed-point observations conducted by 13N and 137E.
