Oily wastewater has a significant impact on the natural environment. Many studies have been done to treat oil wastewater, however, very limited studies on the development of treatment technologies utilizing waste, by-products, and scrap from construction industry. Therefore, this study aimed to carry out a batch adsorption tests (based of OECD(2000)) of dispersed oil (typical, droplet size ranging 0.2-0.6 μm) in water onto autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) grains from waste scrap in Vietnam. The removal % became 57% at high concentration of 1000 mg/L, indicating that the tested adsorbent of AAC grains in this study have a high potential of oily wastewater.
