[AOS17-P06] Application of passive radar for current measurement by ocean surface radar system

*Akitsugu Nadai1 (1.NICT National Institute of Information and Communications Technology)

Keywords:Passive radar

In recent years, the effective use of radio frequency resources has been raised as a technological development issue. For remote sensing purposes, as the number of radars in operation increases, the probability of radio interference between radars increases. Passive radar technology has been attracting attention as a means to effectively utilize frequency resources by sharing the transmission source among multiple sensors. In this paper, the application of passive radar technology to an ocean surface radar system for measuring ocean surface current velocity is discussed.
