[G02-P02] "Children’s Summer School on Earthquakes, Volcanoes and Geology" is a place for developing and verifying experimental teaching materials

Keywords:Earth science education, Field experiment, Experiment for Children

Experiments are indispensable for "Children’s Summer School on Earthquakes, Volcanoes and Geology". Experiments have the function of encouraging understanding of the mechanism of natural events. However, there are not many experiments that easily reproduce diverse and complex geological phenomena. At summer schools held nationwide, children can see the characteristic geology and topography that can only be seen in that area. New experiments are often developed to explain these mechanisms. However, experiments that are common among scientists can be difficult for children to understand or prepare. This presentation presents experiments developed and improved for summer schools over the last few years. Then, we will discuss the "value as a place for the development and verification of experiments" of the summer school.
