[G03-09] Development of a radio telescope using a BS antenna and its application to space education materials for junior and senior high school students
Keywords:radio telescope, research activity, cosmic ray
The cosmic ray research activity "Tan Q" supports junior and senior high school students' research activities focusing on cosmic rays. Some high school students have been studying the relationship between solar activity and cosmic rays. Telescopes are the most common means of observing the sun. Some schools have been observing sunspots for several decades. The purpose of this project is to expand the outreach activities in the field of space and astronomy in order to build a radio telescope using BS antennas and to integrate it into the cosmic ray research activities. There are many junior and senior high school students who are interested in space but do not know about cosmic rays. It is expected that these students will be interested in the cosmic ray research activities, and research activities will lead to more active. The main body of the radio telescope was made using parts that anyone can get. This time, we actually built a radio telescope with a BS antenna and observed the solar thermal component of radio waves at 12 GHz. In this talk, I will introduce these progresses.
