[G05-P13] Relationship between topographical features, location, and geological features of fishing ports and coastal villages in the Kyotango city, San`in Kaigan UNESCO Global Geopark
Keywords:geopark, fishing port, topographical features, geological features
The San’in Kaigan Geopark is divided into Tango Peninsula Area (marine terrace and rocky coast with advanced erosion, partly Rias coast), Tajima coastal Area (Rias coast), and eastern Tottori Area (rocky coast with advanced erosion). We paid attention to the coast of Kyotango City, unlike the Rias coast, having a well-developed marine terrace where natural inlets are difficult to form.
The factors that formed the topography and the background of its use as a fishing port will be clarified. As a result of investigating the geology and topography of the place where the fishing port is located on Tango Peninsula (Kyotango City), all fishing ports (13 ports) have been used the naturally formed cove-like topography, and 7 of them had rocky topography.Among them, andesite and sedimentary rocks were confirmed in 6 of the 7 fishing ports. It was found that andesite is distributed especially in the cove, where it protrudes like a cape.
