Studies that measure the psychological state at the time of execution of duties under a physical and interpersonally closed environment are scattered around astronaut training facilities, ecosystem experiment facilities, and Antarctic Overwintering Corps. Closed environments means the restriction to free access and free behavior. In preliminary research, it has been reported an increase in isolation, discomfort and tension during experiments in a closed environment (Shimamiya, 2016). On the other hand, the stress response improved before and after that period rather than during the period in a closed environment (Shimamiya et al., 2008).
However, all these preliminary researches are quantitative studies using questionnaire surveys and physiological indicators. The qualitative research that examines the application and processes of psychological adaptation in detail is rare (Inoue et al., 2006). It is not limited to astronauts and Antarctic Crosswinter Expeditions to carry out missions under physical and interpersonal restrictions. The same applies to disaster relief and the training to serve it, and in the treatment of infectious diseases such as COVID-19, which is currently in the midst of expansion. Therefore, in order to maintain and improve the mental health of people working in these closed environments, we thought it would be meaningful to consider the psychological adaptation process and the usability in detail, so we conducted this research.
This study retrospectively examined the process of psychological adaptation in a closed environment for participants in closed environment experiments with physical and interpersonal restrictions, and mentally in stressful situations that arise in a multidimensional supportless environment to clarify the factors and the equilibrium from the balanced state.
We also clarify the factors and mobility from mentally unbalanced conditions to balance in stressful situations caused by supportless environments, but the emotional perception, cognitive patterns, and response behavior of each subject are mutually shadows. It is thought to be sound. In addition, its way of beings is thought to change over time and process it. Therefore, as a methodological framework for capturing and describing human experience in the relationship between time and culture and social context, we use Trajectory Equifinality Model (TEM), extract and describe common terms from each subject's adaptation process, and try modeling. I saw it.
