Keywords:Water pollution, Anthropocene, Paleoenvironment, Moat, Sumpu Castle, Okayama Castle

Environmental changes have been recorded in the sediments of the moat of the castle that remain in Japan. In particular, if the castle is built in the coastal plain, it will be located in the center of the city as it is, such as the location of the prefectural office. It is possible to reconstruct the environmental changes in these areas, and it is a convenient material for discussing the environmental changes in the Anthropocene. Therefore, in this study, columnar samples were collected at each point in Sumpu Castle in the central area of Shizuoka City and Okayama Castle Moat in the central area of Okayama City, and the dating data from the Pb / Cs dating results were used. Environmental changes over the past 100 years have been restored based on sediment layer observations and CNS analysis.
