Keywords:Sense of distance, Living Environment, Recognition space

There are studies of to the influence of the spatial environment, such as the arrangement of the staying equipment, However, we believe that people depends on the experience that underlies affordance. At present, population decline is occurring in suburban areas. The cognition distance means to and from school and work place depends on where people live. Compared with urban areas, suburban areas have fewer stores. In other words, people living in urban areas and suburbs have different means of transportation and surroundings, and they have different time senses. Depending on the living environment, such as the waiting time of public transportation and the distance of facilities used, the distance, speed, and speed of transportation may change daily. The purpose of this study is to quantify the differences in distance perception ,depending on the living environment and to extract the standard of people's lives.

The survey will be conducted in Asahi Ward, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture and Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture. As a preliminary survey, we investigated the location of people staying in Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture. First, by focusing on the people’s residence position with respect to the distance from the station, and the residence data is displayed by GIS for visualization. Next, a questionnaire survey is conducted for the purpose of extracting people's sense of distance. Accounting to there is a difference in the recognition distance according to the residence history from the post research, it was carried out for visitors and residents. In order for the subjects to recognize the distance, they were asked to describe the means of travel and the travel time, and were compared with the actual distance and time of travel. As the result, the difference of the recognition space by the residence attribute was found.

Public transportation is important to people's lifestyle, and I think the shape of the train station is related to people's lifestyle. In the future, people will change the distance to the destination and construct it based on the route of the station, so I think it will be different in the actual map. Using GIS, we want to show people's sense of distance by station, compare it with an actual map, and take up the distortion in virtual space.
