In recent years, the performance of PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) cameras has continued to improve in terms of zoom magnification and resolution, and the accuracy of PTZ control has advanced as well. When we aim to utilize these PTZ cameras for wide-area image data acquisition, observation and measurement based on these images, we must take into account the fact that the images are time-series data and are taken at various locations at various elevation angles and magnifications. In order to utilize the data for observation and measurement, it is essential for the data viewer to be able to easily understand when and where the various images were taken. In addition, it is desirable for users to be able to easily specify the observation target to focus on when acquiring data.
Therefore, we have developed a GIS (Geographic Information System) that supports flexible visualization of time-series data, which is suitable for utilizing data from PTZ cameras. In addition, we have developed an application that allows users to intuitively control the PTZ camera by specifying the observation target on the GIS.
